Tightvac Across America & the Puddle!!

Well we have had one exciting time after another  since our last post over 7 months ago!

We’ve been plying our “Vacs” worldwide, enjoying the delightful bounties of our fantastic  Coffee & Tea  communities as well as exhibiting in some of our countries biggest trade shows, the National Restaurant Association & the International Housewares Show!

We’re excited to share these marvelous  events through these photos and we hope they will shed a light for you on our amazing experiences from San Diego CA to London England!!

Starting close to home with the San Diego CoffeeFest in sunny Southern Cali FUN!

A good time was had by all, who can complain when your in the company of the best Coffee & Coffee Accessory companies around and your hanging 90 minutes from home. Which BTW did not save us any hotel fees, no not us we stayed near by so we could best serve you and of course, hang & drink the best of coffee‘s for a few days..! Thanks CoffeeFest for your continued support!

Coffeevacs & Teavacs make the scene at the show that has previously graced us with the  CoffeeFest Award for Best New Coffee Storage Container!

Moving on now around the good ole US of A onto the SCAA. There is always an amazing variety of international vendors & guests and everything bustles with murmurs of new coffee secrets or the latest baddest brew or barista!

Terrific distractions all over the place, just how much coffee can I sample before getting back to the booth, hmmmm!

A warm reception for our unique & extraordinary VACS! From our Roaster sized Coffeevac 5lb. to our Minivac Single Dose Solution!

We love attending the SCAA Trade shows Thanks guys for a wonderful show!

NOW!! SWITCHING GEARS ACROSS OUR LAND to the  National Restaurant Association Show!!

What you have to watch very carefully here is your waistline.  It will inexplicably grow and somehow you can not  fathom that  your third helping of brisket from the amazing new oven that tenderizes even a horse in only 4 hours, had anything to do with the growth happening around your girth!

So you go back for more..WHY NOT!

FUN  Booth!

FANTASTIC FOOD!

ALL EFFING FABULOUS AS OUR COFFEVAC/THE EVERYTHING VACS’ WERE THE HIT!

Every Chef & Roasters FAVORITE Storage!

Now taking our larger waist line with us we move on to the International House Wares Show & WOW!! Here we always do well with our great Tightvac Sets & our Coffeevacs which make the perfect kitchen organizing accessory or gift! Our Tintvacs rock the housewares arena!

Chicago, Chicago my kinda town! It really is  a spectacular view in front of that lake that is an ocean! Nothing really compares to that however the caverns of booths at the show form a very impressive site! Gotta love the IHA!

SPIFFY BOOTH!

LOST THE WAISTLINE SHOPPING!

OUR VACS ARE VERY WELL RECEIVED!

COULD YOU ASK FOR MORE…GRACIAS, CHICAGO!

We’re nearing the end of our domestic America the Beautiful experience with a lovely finale at the extraordinary World Tea Expo in Las Vegas!

The beauty of this show easily rivals the lights of Vegas & the fountains at the Bellagio put together!

The beauty of nature always stands unrivaled!

We all know what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

We’re absolutely thrilled to exhibit our Teavacs alongside such dignified luminaries of the Tea industry! The praise for our Teavacs made us really proud of our work; a real tribute was paid to the ultimate tea container!

There is something so sacred and ancient about tea, it elevates your being with the history of  ritual! Thanks World Tea we will be back!

As we jump the puddle that is the Atlantic we land safely in the mix at the Specialty Coffee Association of  Europe this year celebrated in the Netherlands! A gorgeous display of our Coffevacs put on by one of our FAVE clients FASCINO who has cleverly added her own logo on our VACS!

Another witty example of how retailers can promote there cafe when a customer purchases a Coffevac with your logo, they never forget your great coffee & will come back to shop for more!

THANKS FASCINO!

Tightvacs, Coffevacs & Teavacs have been sold internationally for the last 6 years! From the shores of Portugal to the Swiss Alps! Yes, we are quite the cultured bunch of containers, if we say so ourselves!!

Last and definitely not least our royal escapade at Caffe Culture in London!

A sophisticated jaunt of a Trade Show, TARA!!

It’s England, Cheerio and all that stuff!

It’s our second visit to the city where weddings are really a big deal! All kidding aside we were absolutely delighted with the amazing hospitality and the keen interest in all our Tightvac, Coffevac & Teavac products. We love being a part of the European community and we look forward to many more years of collaboration with all our neighbors across the puddle and over channels!

We bid you farewell and  hope that you have enjoyed our journey over the past 7 months  as much as we did! Stay tuned for our new Kilovacs!

Thank you from all of us at Tightpac America, Inc.

SIMPLICITY THAT WORKS! TARA!

Orphan Espresso Tightvac System ~ Part 3

Continuing on with the Orphan  Espresso Video Blog series on our Tightvac Containers and I gotta say this is probably my favorite as they describe in detail how they use Tightvacs to store their favorite brands of beans & grounds.

Water Avenue Coffee uses the Tightvac/Coffeevac Single Shot Espresso System for Storage!

In this case Tightvacs/Coffeevacs are especially useful since they both prefer different brands of beans. They could also have used our variety of colors & styles to distinguish even further & make things a bit more colorful, but that’s just me…otherwise I LOVE these guys & it’s impressive what they did to share Tightvacs!

What we are most impressed with is that so many people have taken the time to blog, photograph & video our Tightvacs & Coffeevacs.  The photo above was sent to us by Water Avenue Coffee Shops & you can see how they use the Tightvac/Coffeevac  Single Shot System. THANK YOU ALL!!

Enjoy Part 3 of the Orpahn Espresso series  & have a cup of your favorite brew  while you’re watching, heck why not! It’s  Coffee or Tea time, all the time somewhere!

Tightvac on Amazon! #$@!&*!!

The top of the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington

Seattle's Famous Space Needle

Did you miss me?? Well it has been one harrowing experience getting our Tightvacs on Amazon! Anyone else know what I am talking about, whew! I have momentarily taken a break to catch up with my blogging & internet posting and only a short break whilst I give Amazon a chance to fix the issues. I don’t wanna bite the mouth that we hope will eventually feed us, and just for your information Amazon gives no refunds on the time used by them to fix their problems..helllooo! So sooner or later our Tightvacs, Coffeevacs  & all our other containers should be well represented on Amazon.

You may be wondering why we would even do that, well we wanted to join the internet world of commerce and of course, we had too, since others were falsely advertising our stuff on Amazon, yes can you believe that!?! Thankfully that was an issue handled by Amazon in a very timely manner & now you can legitimately see the real Tightvacs on Amazon!

In the meantime let me inform you that Tightvac Coffeevac will be attending the upcoming CoffeeFest Show in the Emerald City of  Seattle , on Oct. 29 – Oct 31, 2010. So if you’re visiting the greenest city in the country, stop by the show and sample our containers with some of the worlds best coffee!

The last time we were at CoffeeFest we won an Award. Who knows what’s next, being Halloween weekend and all, could be very interesting, hmm….

Here’s the video of Dana accepting our Best New Product Award..maybe this time we’ll get one delivered by a goblin..oooooo..spoookyyyy..oh & we  still do not know who the glory seeking guy in the sunglasses is..LOL

CoffeeNate Review

Coffee freshness is adversely affected by the following;

  • Oxygen
  • Heat
  • Light
  • Moisture

There are several products on the market that are good for coffee storage.  Most of them will help safeguard your beans from one or more of the above, but there is one product that I have found that surpasses them all.  Best of all, it is also the most economical!  Thank you to Richard C., who brought this product to my attention by posting a question about it on my CoffeeNate facebook page!  The product is called the Tightvac.  The Tightvac was originally marketed and sold as a tea storage container, but the rest of the food industry soon caught on that this simple to use product was invaluable in its design and how it could preserve any perishable item.  So naturally the coffee industry has taken notice as well.  The Tightvac won a best product award at CoffeeFest in 2010.

I’m afraid I sound like a commercial here, but I really like this product for its purpose and value.  While the Tightvac can be used to store just about anything imaginable, it translates perfectly to the coffee industry because of its ingenious design that works just like the one way valves found on all specialty coffee bags.  These valves are necessary to allow the carbon dioxide, emitted by freshly roasted coffee, to escape.  There are other vacuum sealed containers on the market for sure, but I am not aware of any other that has this degassing capability while not allowing the outside air in.  The Tightvac is also easy for anyone to use, simply depress the easy to push button and slide the lid on.  Push the button again when you want to remove the lid.  No pumping, pulling, or plugging in needed.  The Tightvac Coffeevac is  simple, practical, valuable, and all for $15 for the 1 lb size.  The Tightvac is available in several sizes from espresso shot size to 5 lb size.

Cool.. More Folks Blogging Tightvac..

I’ve left the Water Avenue Coffee blog intact & we thank them for posting and making our lives easier..:) Awesome!

It’s cool how they are using the Coffevac for single pours!

Thanks Water Avenue!

When it rains we pour …

Water Avenue Coffee is super stoked to have such a great team and we are thrilled to be offering a great selection of pour over coffees daily as well as our espresso menu and Chemex into carafe as our only drip. While Drew Woods pours perfect capps and lattes, Tom Pikaart has been blowing minds with his pour over Hario fanaticism. Today we implemented a pre–portioned coffee method in dated, air tight containers from CoffeeVac to the pour over routine. We feel that everyone should be able to enjoy a freshly ground and hand poured cup of WAC coffee, and are implementing a way to make it a more streamlined process.

Exciting times down on Water Avenue. Come on by to try from our market price coffee menu currently featuring 5 coffees from Ethiopia, Sumatra, Rwanda, Honduras and Colombia.

Lift OFF with Cafe Cubano!! How We Stay Awake at Tightvac ;)!

You can read my recipe or skip down to the video that has awesome music & great instructions. Please do not store your coffee the way the guy in the video does! Use Coffeevac or any Tightvacs for all your Coffee Storage needs! But you knew that ri-ight?!

There are two methods to making coffee the Cuban way: the traditional method using a metal stovetop espresso pot, or with an electric espresso machine.  While the stovetop method takes longer, it’s certainly the authentic method, you can find a stovetop espresso maker at most online Cuban store websites.

Set of Mocha Coffevacs!

1. Brew the coffee just as you would an espresso in a machine or on the stove top. Common Cuban style brands include Bustelo, Pilon and La Llave, personally I’m partial to La Llave. I buy the Cuban brands at my local market or you can buy online from the Cuban Food Market.  You can also purchase fresh whole coffee beans from supermarkets like Albertson’s, Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods, any of the very dark roast Colombian brands will work best for Cuban coffee. I myself grind whole beans there at the store so that it is fine, fresh and ready to be made (espresso grind setting).  Do NOT store your ground coffee in a freezer. For all Coffee Storage, use a Solid or Tinted Coffeevac & keep it in a cool place away from sunlight.  If you insist on drinking real Cuban coffee from Cuba today, only one site online sells it (pictured at the bottom of this page with a link).

2. For every demitasse cup of coffee you plan on making, use a teaspoon of sugar. The key to Cuban coffee is that it be very sweet. The trick here is to put the sugar into a cup or a small glass carafe before you even brew the coffee & once your coffee is brewed pour a  few drops into the carafe with the sugar, careful not to pour too much in, you want the sugar to stay thick.  You then whip the sugar up till it looks almost like caramel, yummy & then pour your coffee in. You can drink it as espresso this way or go ahead and add the steamed milk to make cafe con leche, or old school cappuccino before espresso machines.

3.  Once you pour the coffee over the  sugar in the separate cup or small glass carafe, you will get that nice caramel foam on top from the sugar.  Pour the coffee into several demitasse cups and enjoy.

* For Cafe con Leche, simply use 2 parts Cuban Coffee to 1 part steamed milk.

* You can find small Cuban demitasse cups online at http://www.mycubanstore.com/

Between Cuba’s natural humid climate, fertile soil and two centuries of cultivation techniques, you have an ideal setting for growing coffee beans.

Coffee was brought to Cuba in the mid 18th century but it would take 40 years before it became a big part of the economy, by the early 1800′s it became a bigger import than sugar.  So far, I’ve come across only one website that sells real coffee beans from Cuba.  The brand is “La Estrella del Norte”, its 100% Cuban Tortino Extra (Turquino) whole beans grown in the shady jungles of the Sierra Maestra Mountains of Eastern Cuba.
